Objective: Talk about classroom objects and describe what is in their backpacks.
Essential Questions-Spanish 1 Focus: What is daily life at school like for a teenager in the Spanish-speaking culture? How does one initiate and maintain a basic, casual conversation about school in Spanish?
Essential Question-Art focus: How do art and technology communicate?
Arts/Technology Integration Strategy: listen to/view, translate, understand, and sing along to songs and videos that use the target vocabulary.

Learning Plan
Monday/lunes ("Musica Monday"): Substitute teacher - Copy weekly vocabulary 3x each Spanish and English.
Tuesday/martes ("Arty Martes"): Introduction of new vocabulary with vocabulary drill and the "Flashcard Video with Sound" from the link above. Music lesson with "Mi Mochila es tan Pesada," under the Classroom Objects section. Students will fill in the blanks with vocabulary words according to the order of the objects in the song.
Wednesday/miercoles: Listen to "Es Hora de Leer" song and give mini-grammar lesson on "tener" (to have) conjugation. Review vocabulary. Read p. 100 from book and complete p. 101 Activities #5-6. (practice with "tener" and class/room object vocabulary.
Thursday/jueves: Project: examine advertising/marketing art and discuss cultural advertising strategies, and then create individual ads for classroom supplies (vocabulary objective), label, illustrate, present to class, and self-assess for grade based on presentation rubric on this homepage.
Friday/viernes ("Foodie Friday"): Weekly vocabulary quiz and "Tienda," ("shop") to redeem class tokens from good behavior and participation.
