Objective: Students will converse in Spanish with a partner using a scripted dialogue (Standard 1.1 -
Communication: Students will engage in conversation)
Bellwork: Using p.29, find 4 words that rhyme and create a 4-line stanza/poem.
Hook: What do you do after school? Teacher will tell students in Spanish what she does after school and draw
pictures on the board.
Direct Instruction: Review fire drill procedures. Review CHAMPS expectations. Have a conversation around
student behavior in this class. Listen to dialogues on p.26-27 twice.
Guided Practice: Go through translation together.
Independent Practice: Students will move to work with their 6'o'clock partners. Copy their assigned lines onto
notecards. Practice dialogue with partner.
Closure: Final drill.
Assessment: Present dialogue to teacher from memory.

the translation as well.

Objective: Students will demonstrate understanding of vocabulary
Bellwork: 5 minutes to study for vocabulary quiz.
Hook: Who likes pushing my buttons? Get your Chromebooks out; we're going to push some buttons!
Direct Instruction: Direct students to Socrative website on their Chromebook/mobile device. Assist them in setting up accounts and entering the correct room number.
Guided Practice: Help students to complete first 2 items of quiz - this will be a teacher-paced quiz.
Closure: At the end of the vocabulary quiz, analyze the data/results with the students.
Assessment: Socrative will send report with student results - 30pt. quiz grade
