Objective: Retell and demonstrate class procedures/rules, emergency drills, expectations and class information. (Bloom's Level 1: Knowledge)
Direct Instruction: Welcome! Lecture on rules/procedures (Google Slides)
Independent Practice: Complete "About Me" worksheet
Assessment: Retell rules as "Ticket Out the Door"
Wednesday, 9/3 -
Objective: Understand CHAMPS expectations, student classroom jobs, class routine. Repeat and recall vocabulary words. (Bloom's Level 1 & 2: Knowledge and Application)
Bell work: In 3-5 complete Spanish sentences, tell about activities that you like to do. Use blue book p.55 for help.
Direct Instruction: Vocab. drill, CHAMPS charts, Vocab. Google Slides (4-square)
Independent Practice: Sign up for classroom jobs on class calendar.
Assessment: Ticket out the Door - Tell me goodbye in Spanish.
Thursday, 9/4 -
Objective: Standard 1.1 Communication: Students will communicate with each other in the target language. (Bloom's Level 2: Application)
Bell work: Categorize vocabulary into 4 groups: greetings, goodbyes, introductions, and other
Direct Instruction: Vocabulary drill; partner pair-up activity (Rolex); Read and play CD with first listening activity (p.2)
Guided Practice: Model an introductory dialogue with teacher assistant and then with a student.
Independent Practice: Students will practice a dialogue together until memorized, then they will say it in front of teacher. (See below)
Closure: Students will craft their own 10-11 line dialogue in Spanish for a quiz grade.
Assessment: 10 points classwork grade for accurately delivering lines of the dialogue; 10 point quiz grade for written script.
