Introduction/Hook: How would you tell "whom" you gave something...say a souvenir? Instead of using their name, you could use "him, her, them"...these are indirect object pronouns.

Agenda:
Bellwork: Categorize the weekly vocabulary: low/moderate/high level of activity (opportunity for tokens)
Drill: Look, listen, and repeat weekly vocabulary after a peer. (no multi-tasking)(opportunity for tokens)
Introduction/Hook: Let's review "indirect object pronouns" by correcting the homework and reading this book.
Direct Instruction: Correct homework and give mini-lesson on "se" usage. (You can "me lo" and you can "te lo" and you can surely "nos lo" but you can't "le lo" you have to "se lo" and get the "L" out of there). Read to students, "Yo Tenia un Hipopotamo." Review family members in Spanish and scaffold types of animals.
Guided Practice: As Ms. Stone reads the book, students will match notecards with the names of the animals with the notecard with the sentence containing the correct direct and indirect object pronoun and the person described. Students will see how "Le" changes to "se" when combined with lo/la/los/las.
Independent Practice: Using the notecards as a guide, students will write 5 sentences from the book that contain an example of indirect object pronouns being changed to "se".
Assessment: Ticket out the door one sentence using "se"
