Objective: Students will use "hay que" to tell what one must do in order to do well at school.
Do Now: Review "Hay que" notes from Friday and then write 3-5 sentences using "hay que" to tell how to do well in school. For example, "Hay que estudiar todas las noches." Write examples on the board. (10 minutes)
Hook: Ask students to fill in KWL chart regarding what they know/want to know about schools in Spanish-speaking countries. (5 min)
Direct Instruction: Show videos from the following document. (20 minutes)
Independent Practice: Ask students to respond to the questions on the document. (5 minutes)
Assessment: Students will complete the KWL chart and share with the class what they have learned. (15 minutes)
Enrichment/Homework: Research and bring back to class answers for the following questions: How are students graded in classes in Mexico? How many years do students in Mexico have to attend school before they typically drop out? Do students rotate classrooms or do teachers?

Objective: SWBAT understand meaning of reflexive verb and conjugate reflexive verbs to say what they do in their daily routine.
Bellwork (5 minutes): Students will copy new vocabulary (below) into existing "Do Now" Google document. Alphabetize the list. This list includes new target vocabulary as well as review of words that students struggled with on Unit 1 Assessment. Teacher will monitor student activity after taking attendance and then assist students with opening Google docs and sharing the file.
Drill (3 minutes): Teacher-led today (first day of new vocabulary). Volunteers for the rest of the week?
Announcements/Notes (10 minutes): Discuss results of Unit 1 Assessment. Lake needs to complete test (absent Friday) and other students need to redo the test (study and come in after school). Jasmine Delgado and Nolan Mitchner have to take Part Two of the NSE. Terrill Donaldson and Jennifer Reyes-Camarillo have to take both sections of NSE. Students should complete and submit Teacher Evaluation that I forwarded to them.

Bellwork (5+ minutes): Write 4 things the man pictured is doing. Conjugate the verbs. Don't forget about the stem-changers: (click here)

Announcements/Notes: Today is the day for our 4 students to finish NSE testing.
Direct Instruction (4 minutes): Write 3 target structures on the board that we will use for the TPRS story and review them.
Guided Practice (10+5 minutes): Create and tell TPRS story to help students memorize vocabulary structures and get them speaking in Spanish. Using the pictures at the end of teacher TPRS guide, students will retell the story verbally.
Independent Practice (15 minutes): Share Spanish Writing Rubric (below) with students and discuss. Students will write out the story that we have created as a class using TPRS. Encourage students to add extra vocabulary and details.
Enrichment/Homework: Create a video of yourself reading the story out loud and send to Ms. Stone
